My first photo shoot both styled and directed by me. It was in the heart of winter, hence the snow of the ground, but we had a great time shooting! The concept was ‘City Chic’…that relaxed, yet edgy appeal.

Kashé Monique started working as a freelance wardrobe stylist in 2004 as a student at Howard University. She has been a part of various projects from contributing styling tips to InStyle Your Look Magazine to designing and styling costumes for performance teams and several photo shoots. She is a former Men's Department Manager and currently a Women's Department Manager within the retail industry. As a laid back individual that loves art in all forms, Kashé uses music, men’s and women’s fashion, hair/makeup, film, dance and fine art as her inspiration. “They each evoke my sentiments and imagination, which becomes personified through my work. I incorporate all of these elements into my daily routine so that I am constantly thinking and formulating fresh ideas.” Her motto in life is to radiate “a quality of distinction, style, and prestige”──the notion that we as individuals bring art to life and that we are a walking canvas in which fashion is painted. “It is the concept that each of us is unparalleled and so long as we exude confidence anything goes. For me being a wardrobe stylist is extremely rewarding because it allows me to tell a story without using words.” Follow Kashé on twitter @distinct_style
